Richard Rycroft's presence on the internet

adventures in acting & stand-up

About Richard Rycroft

Hello. Nice of you to pop in. Always a joy to see you.

I’m Richard Rycroft, a nice middle aged chap who works as an actor (you’ve possibly seen me on the telly but forgotten what in) and stand-up comedian. 2010 was a year of competitions for me. Made it to the semi-final of the Leicester Square New Comedian of The Year competition and the finals of new act competitions promoted by the Hackney EmpireLaughing Horse Comedy Clubs (Judges’ Special Commendation) and the Reading Comedy Festival (Runner-Up).

Generally doing 10-15 minute sets, opening 20’s at the smaller clubs around the country, and my first solo show, THE SONGS I’LL NEVER SING, runs for an hour. Always on the look-out for nice places to perform. Distance no object, but I’m not made of petrol money (hint). There’s a short clip, if you’d like to see it, at http://richardrycroft.net/videos-and-stuff-2

As befits my age, I’m scared of technology and have no idea what possessed me to set up a blogsite thing, so expect sporadic posts full of laughable errors. But it’s nice to be here, and I hope you’ll join me on my adventures in acting & stand-up, making comments and generally letting me know you’re there. My gigs list page is regularly updated, so perhaps you’ll come and say hello in person one evening, too?

  1. Richard
Are you interested in making a docu/mockumentary about yourself, you seem like an interesting guy to do one about.
If so please call me on 07711 255909 to discuss further

  2. You are a quality poet Rich. You are in my top 5 punk poets along with John Cooper Clark, Seething Wells and Alexi Sayle. I also love Paul Birthill’s more nihilistic writing. How about starting up a punk poetry evening?

Richard Rycroft – what a talent!
    Sorry, I meant, ‘what – a talent?!’

Seriously Richard whenever I see you I smile. Nothing to do with the malfunctions of my digestive tract I assure you – no, you’ve got that rare quality that even before opening your mouth you make me feel like life is worth living.

So I was right first time – ‘Richard Rycroft – what a talent!’
If you got any to spare I’ll ‘ave it.

  4. Richard, I think someone has hacked your twitter account as you have appeared to have tweeted.

  5. Hi Richard,

Been meaning to email you for ages and didn’t bring any of my contact details in to the office today. It would be good to catch up about our olympic radio plans and the soon to launch Miskin Radio .
